Manager, Financial Analysis and Benchmarking - Healthcare

A health industry management consulting practice with a excellent reputation for services to its clients across Australia's healthcare system. The Manager, Financial Analysis and Benchmarking will work as part of a team, reporting into the Associate Director to achieve service delivery of project work.

KEY FUNCTIONS

• To lead the design and execution of financial analysis and benchmarking projects that involve the development of resourcing, costing, pricing, business cases, and other financial models for programs and/or services in the health, aged care, and disability sectors.
• To oversee, and often substantially contribute to management accounting and financial analysis work that identifies, analyses, and summarises information into management briefings, and/or discussion and options papers.
• To design and conduct quantitative and (where needed) qualitative data collections in relation to financial analysis and benchmarking projects, including by developing and administering written surveys, arranging for data extraction from existing systems, and/or by leading interviews and/or focus groups.
• To prepare financial analysis and benchmarking reports that clearly present the evidence and findings using story-telling and data visualisation techniques and, where relevant, make recommendations in a way that inspires client's confidence in implementing the advice provided.
• To develop project plans (including stakeholder management and risk management plans); and execute those plans using best practice project management and monitoring, and the project governance processes agreed with clients.
• To provide guidance, mentor and upskill the Consultants and Senior Consultants working on financial analysis and benchmarking projects, providing them with access to technical expertise and motivation to undertake tasks as effectively and efficiently as possible.
• To liaise in a professional and timely manner with clients and their expert working groups, to maintain the firms reputation as a responsive and respected provider of high-quality consulting services.
• To prepare proposals to undertake assignments for existing or potential new clients either proactively by recognising a client need and designing a project that meets the need, or reactively by preparing responses to invitations to submit quotations.

PERSONAL SKILLS AND BACKGROUND
The Manager, Financial Analysis and Benchmarking should hold tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or related discipline and be a member of a relevant professional body (i.e. CPA or CA). Five or more years' work experience, preferably as an accountant, ideally experience within the health, aged care or disability services sectors is required and experience in managing and delivering financial analysis. Experience in working in a management consulting environment is highly desirable.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

• Proven experience in designing and conducting financial analysis projects including resource, cost, and price modelling; project evaluations and business cases.
• Proven experience in analysing quantitative and related qualitative data sets, and in using story-telling and data visualisation techniques to present results.
• The ability to lead the preparation of, and to prepare and deliver clear, accurate and well-structured financial analysis reports, including the presentation of evidence, findings and recommendations in a way that inspires clients' confidence in organisations work.
