Leeds | £300 - £400 per day
An innovative, leading organisation in a period of growth is looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join its group finance team in Leeds for a full-time, interim role which may lead to a permanent position. The Interim Accountant will lead on all aspects of Group accounting policy, technical accounting support for commercial projects and new standard implementation, in addition to playing a key role in internal and external financial reporting.

An innovative, leading organisation in a period of growth is looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join its group finance team in Leeds for a full-time, interim role which may lead to a permanent position. The Interim Accountant will lead on all aspects of Group accounting policy, technical accounting support for commercial projects and new standard implementation, in addition to playing a key role in internal and external financial reporting.
Your New Role
Primary responsibilities of the Financial Reporting Accountant will include:
- Providing a range of accounting knowledge, insight and analysis across all the Group's businesses, on a separate and consolidated basis
- Managing the Group's accounting team, addressing technical accounting queries and projects from Corporate and the business units
- Working with the wider Group Finance team to prepare external consolidated financial reporting under IFRS, with a focus on the preparation of disclosures
- Being the key point of contact with the auditors, drafting technical papers to support accounting treatment adopted
- Assisting with the preparation of papers and reports for Audit Committee and Board
- Playing a key role in the development of the Group's financial accounting and reporting capabilities, responding to senior stakeholder requirements
- Assisting with month end reporting, reviewing management accounts and providing technical support to Corporate accountant
- Inputting to continuous improvement, driving improvements in the business's processes and procedures
- Supporting tax and treasury
About You
Applications are invited from qualified Financial Accountants who demonstrate:
- An ACA, Big four background (preferred)
- Excellent technical accounting skills, likely gained through several years' post-qualified experience
- Post-practice experience in industry
- Experience engaging at senior levels within an organisation
- A strong grasp of IFRS
- Confidence with complex accounting areas, including derivatives and hedge accounting
- Tax and treasury exposure
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and style to a variety of audiences
Salary
On offer for the interim Financial Reporting Accountant will be £300 - £400 per day, dependent on experience.
