A UK based accountancy firm needs staff for their office in Islamabad. 

POSITION PURPOSE

The Assistant Financial Accountant will be responsible for bookkeeping to preparation of Trial Balance. Ideally, the successful candidate will be partly qualified ACCA/CA/CIMA/ICMA and be able to demonstrate good experience in bookkeeping, preparation of trial balance, and assist in preparing the management/ statutory accounts.

Report to Partners/Directors/Lead

Job Description

  • Post all the accounting records (sales invoices, purchase invoices, bank transactions, credit card statements, petty cash, etc).
  • Reconcile all the bank, PayPal, credit card, and other control accounts in SAGE, XERO, Quick book, or excel.
  • Ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, including ensuring the timely completion of all transactions.
  • Complete the bookkeeping and prepare the VAT returns and assist in preparing the management/ statutory accounts along with different reports i.e, EC sales, Intrastat reports, VAT returns, etc.
  • Prepare the payroll, PAYE, and pension auto-enrolment and submission to HMRC.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities and recommending solutions, including following through to ensure that recommended solutions are fully and properly implemented.
  • Have excellent communication skills and can work under pressure.

Job Specifications

  • A partly qualified ACCA/CA/CIMA/ICMA Accountant to deal with our UK based clients.
  • An analytical mind
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
  • Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints
  • Ideally, be able to work on cloud-based software e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, SAGE, TaxCalc, MS Office, and Taxfiler.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH formulas)
  • Ideally should have previous work experience of 1 -2 years with the UK clients and should be able to demonstrate the UK tax and companies’ laws knowledge.
  • Team player and demonstrate leadership skills
