About the role:

The individual will be responsible for reconciling account balances, maintaining general ledger, preparing month-end close adjustments and compiling financial statements. This role requires excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports.

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively across functions, possess excellent communication skills and collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, results-oriented and adaptable with the ability to take on added responsibilities within the accounting organization as the company continues to grow.

Key responsibilities include:

• Execute and review day-to-day accounting and month-end closing activities related to cost of goods sold, inventory, accruals, etc. Understand variances in these areas and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Manage standard prices updates, finished goods costing and inventory valuation
• Analyze fluctuations in inventory and expenses related the price difference, scrap, production order variance and be able to explain drivers of material usage variance (MUV)
• Reconcile intercompany transactions with related parties across the Group
• Prepare and submit financial statements and ensure accuracy of the financial reporting
• Liaise with the external and internal auditors during the financial statements and other audits
• Manage the internal controls over financial reporting
• Identify, plan and implement key projects to improve quality and increase efficiencies
• Work closely with other departments of the organization to ensure transactions reflect economic reality. Other departments this role will interact with are FP&A, Finance Business Partners, Treasury, Tax, Credit, AP, HR, etc
• Lead ad hoc projects as necessary, including the multi-year Finance Transformation Project and implementation of new IFRS standards

Education:

Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting or similar

Work Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, month end close; public accounting background a plus
• SAP experience is strongly preferred (if not, significant ability to pick up on systems quickly)
• Strong excel skills
• Experience in a manufacturing organization in Finance or Accounting roles for multinational companies, preferably B2B/food industry
