Our client is currently looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their Finance team in Barway, Ely on a 6 month fixed term contract. They are looking for someone newly qualified or a finalist who has a pro-active approach to Finance, ideally from an FMCG background with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Weekly Tasks
  • Generate key reports on Added Value and BSL profitability to inform Business decision making, provide relevant and timely reporting on a weekly basis with clear concise commentary and investigation.
  • Report profitability by SKU to aid Commercial and Product Teams to drive cost-saving.
  • Weekly adjustment of Added Value raw material cost, to maintain accurate reporting.
  • Analysis, communication and use of relevant financial and non-financial information to drive informed decision making.
  • Labour recovery and packaging usage setup for Added Value, Salads, and cover of other product areas.
  • Attending Weekly and monthly Operations Exec Meeting and supporting with financial information.

Monthly End Management Accounts
  • Provide relevant and timely financial metrics monthly with clear concise commentary and investigation.
  • Preparation, analysis, and commentary of Added Value and BSL Business Units. Detailed overhead analysis and meetings with budget holders. Detailed analysis of direct and indirect labour actual hours and costs v expected hours and costs.
  • Reporting on open purchase orders to measure purchase order processing compliance within the BSL Team.
  • Ownership of allocated accruals and cost analysis for BSL.
  • Weekly adjustment of RTE Celery raw material cost, to ensure accurate accounting records.

Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Reconciliation of Added Value stock, Packaging Stock, Packaging re-charge and labour re-charge balance sheet accounts.
  • Reconciliation of allocated BSL Balance Sheet Accounts.

Budget and Forecasting
  • Involvement in the annual budget setting process.
  • Involvement in timely forecasting of financial results, with clear assumptions documented, to enable review of BSL anticipated performance to budget.

Procedures and Controls
  • The development, upkeep and disciplining of the accounting procedures manual.
  • Involvement and lead in systems and process improvement projects.
