Purpose of the role

You will Member of the IAG Internal Audit team based in London or Madrid and supporting Internal Audit managers across the Group. You will take responsibility for planning and delivering IT Audits across the IAG entities to provide assurance over the adequacy and effectiveness of IT related controls.

In addition, you will make an impact in this role by...

  • Planning and supervising IT audits and other review work, ensuring key risks are covered by audit terms of reference, stakeholders are aware of audit scope and all conclusions are clearly evidenced and documented, including, where relevant, appropriate procedures to address risks of fraud, system failures, cyber security events, financial loss and reputational damage due to inadequate controls.
  • Writing audit reports, including remedial actions for identified weaknesses which have been agreed with relevant stakeholders.
  • Planning, supervising and concluding on IT General Controls as part of the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) reviews, reporting findings to external auditors as well as internal stakeholders and ensuring weaknesses are followed up and corrected.
  • Leading and coaching a team of three IT auditors, defining their objectives, roles and responsibilities.
  • Using the IAG Tech risk universe, OpCos IT portfolio and inputs from senior management in relevant areas of the business to prepare the IT audit plan on a bi-annual basis, including the assignment of appropriately-experienced and skilled auditors to each assignment once approved by the Audit & Compliance Committee.
  • Working with stakeholders to advise on the prompt and effective implementation of remedial actions.
  • Providing specialist skills/knowledge as required to business auditors when performing other audits
  • Providing assurance over the controls surrounding delivery of significant business projects, including IT projects.
  • Maintaining awareness of emerging technologies and risks and sharing knowledge with the team.
  • Being able to act as a deputy for the Regional Head of Audit as required.


To achieve in this role, you are likely to...

  • Have at least 6 - 8 years' experience in IT audit (including at least 3-4 years acting as a manager/senior manager in similar role)
  • Have good understanding of IT control and risk management principles, cybersecurity, business continuity and disaster recovery, cloud computing concepts, technologies, third party management and system development life cycle methodologies, including a sound understanding of operating system, databases, web and network infrastructures.
  • Have experience in IT General Controls (ITGCs) and IT Application controls (ITACs), including experience with ICFR or SOX 404 audits
  • Have relevant professional qualification such as Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) or other IT related certifications
  • Be excellent communicator able to communicate complex IT matters with non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with senior stakeholders
  • Have good people leader skills (experience in managing small teams)
  • Have organised and disciplined working approach tailored to meeting tight deadlines while producing good quality work.
