Accounting Specialist

Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for analysis and processing of refunds related to BlueCard Negative Balances, BlueCard Unworkable Checks and Provider returned checks. This position will also be responsible for the day to day interaction with the Third-Party Collection vendor and will be responsible for all overpayment recovery collection placements and recalls. In addition, this position will assist with the application of Subrogation recoveries, and month-end close deliverables including Journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliations.

Essential Functions:

• Researching and resolving outstanding items using analytical skills and multiple systems/programs
• Producing journal entries and operational duties associated with overpayment recovery and Inter-plan processes
• Performing account analysis and reconciliation of multiple general ledger accounts associated with overpayment recovery and Inter-plan business
• Producing reporting packages for leadership and associated teams

Required Education/Work Experience:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant area or equivalent work experience
• Job related work experience: Two or more years of directly related work experience
• Highly effective oral and written communication skills along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be a team player with the ability to be self-motivated
• Advanced level skills in MS Excel and query tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the PeopleSoft system, Diamond Claims system, Quest, ITS, and Blue2
• Knowledge of the end to end Overpayment Recovery process
• Experience with Florida Blue PeopleSoft AR is highly desirable
• Experience with BlueCard Line of Business
