The Department

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning is tasked with ensuring that Victoria has the right conditions to enable economic growth, while delivering liveable, inclusive and sustainable communities.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, Finance (CFO) this important role has accountability for developing a high performing accounting operations function with a strong focus on good governance, provision of high quality advice, service excellence, developing capability and improving efficiency.

This is a true leadership role where you will actively lead a large team through a significant time of change (systems and operational). This position is broad in scope and set in a complex environment where you will gain exposure to a wide range of critical projects that impact every Victorian.

The Candidate

You are a qualified (CA/CPA) accountant with a proven track record of delivering excellent accounting, compliance and risk management advice and services within a large business. You will have experience with change, knowing how to guide and lead the team through significant changes in their IT systems and day to day way of working. In addition, you will have the acumen and interest to participate in providing advice around operational projects of significant importance.

This is a challenging and interesting role set in a dynamic environment. It represents an excellent opportunity to continue to develop a 'first class' accounting/finance function within this important department.
