About the role
The Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting is responsible for the management of the Corporate monthly close process, financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, the preparation and review of variance analyses, the preparation of the Consolidated Cash Flow Statement, leading the SEC reporting function and ensuring compliance with SOX internal control requirements. #CB

About the role

What you will do
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Lead Corporate monthly close process
- Collaborate and ensure cohesive working relationship with the Company's A/P function/payroll function and Expense Reporting function, which reside outside of the NJ corporate office
- Review and approve monthly reconciliations to ensure account balances are properly supported
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of accruals through comparisons to forecasts/annual operating plan (AOP) and through regular discussions with key executive management
- Ensure key internal controls are executed timely and accurately to facilitate SOX compliance
- Execute processes to close the accounting period in a timely manner to ensure proper cutoff
- Prepare the consolidated cash flow statement
- Assist the Chief Accounting Officer with the annual company-wide insurance renewal program
- Lead the SEC/External reporting function
- Assist in the preparation of accounting research memos/white papers
- Assist in the preparation of various accounting policies
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Assist with external and internal auditor requests.
- Assist with treasury-related activities and other ad-hoc projects or initiatives
- Assist with business development and strategy initiatives, including post-acquisition integration
What we are looking for
- Four-year undergraduate / bachelor's degree in accounting required
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in a National/Top Tier Public Accounting Firm
- CPA required
- HFM and HFM Smart view experience is required
- SAP experience is a plus
- Blackline experience is a plus
- Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication (both oral and written) skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to challenge the status quo and improvement the overall financial reporting process
- Self-motivated requiring little supervision
- Quick learner, ability to make decisions and support such positions
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize work responsibilities and meet tight deadlines
- Exhibit self-confidence, poise / maturity.
