Client Details
Our client based in South East England are seeking a field based Investigations Manager on a permanent basis.
Description
As Investigations Manager you will be responsible for:
· Provide professional, effective end to end case management on complex cases.
· Use, with justification, extensive statutory powers including leading complex investigations,
conducting external inspections, delivering criminal prosecutions, as well as managing routine
regulatory or investigative matters, levying significant civil penalties etc.
· Personally and autonomously deliver positive investigation outcomes in line with policy and
procedure, and the formal schedule of delegations, adhering to the decision making framework so
as to meet all KPIs and assessed quality standards.
· Operate independently and competently across three, differing legislative jurisdictions (England &
Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland).
· Interact individually with the regulated industry, members of schemes, other regulators / law
enforcement organisations or other parties to secure information in the correct manner, and
personally analyse and present findings.
· Personally represent the organisation in civil and criminal courts and tribunals as 'the officer in the case'.
· Personally collate and safely handle evidence (including where obtained from third parties),
meeting statutory criminal procedure requirements.
· Have excellent systems and processes understanding with extensive experience working across a
number of Information Technology platforms with abilities to cross reference across data.
Profile
· A nationally recognised qualification or, accreditation as an investigator. Proven experience of
successfully working in an investigatory (criminal or regulatory) environment with case
management expertise.
· A degree or equivalent qualification and/or extensive experience in law enforcement or an
investigative or regulatory environment.
· Specialist ability in investigative techniques and conduct of investigations through to courts gained
through formal training and practical experience including investigative interviewing, evidence
gathering, disclosure, presenting evidence and application for / use of statutory powers (pre-
planned and dynamic) in multiple court jurisdictions.
· Authoritative grasp of risk awareness and impact in the context of the management and prioritising
of complex and volume casework and practical application of legislative frameworks to the
regulated sector.
· Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills with an ability to tailor approach
bespoke to the audience and circumstances, on a case by case basis, whilst delivering a clear,
consistent and authoritative message - particularly to unwilling, adverse and/or hostile individuals.
· A full UK driving licence and willingness to drive and travel to conduct statutory inspections as
required by the role across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This will include some
overnight stays.
