We are seeking students who are eager to learn, self-motivated and comfortable working independently. This internship will make an impact! You will support and assist with real-life projects for the Treasury Department. These projects are designed to enhance your communication and teamwork skills, as you will be collaborating with individuals across many functions in our organization. You will work alongside professionals in your field, gaining in-depth knowledge about the energy industry and your chosen field of expertise. You will apply what you have learned in school to impactful projects within a publicly traded, multi-state utility energy company. PAY: $17.00 per hour (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Principal Finance Professional

  • Intern Relocation Adjustment Allowance of $1,000.00 is offered for the purpose of assisting with various expenses associated with your relocation for the internship (less applicable taxes and based on eligibility). Contents of our relocation program are subject to change and may vary based on position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with monitoring and analyzing transactions for multiple cash accounts to create and review system reports to determine daily cash positions.
  • Assist with forecasting future cash flow to maximize investments and/or minimize borrowings.
  • Perform assigned duties in a professional manner to facilitate the objectives and goals of the Company and to enhance the image of the Treasury Department.
  • Support other departments as scheduled by the Treasury Manager or other management staff.
  • May assist in reporting for the Treasury Department. Ensure that information is accurate and presented in a useful and understandable manner.
  • Communicate status of work to project lead.
  • Present ideas for improving efficiency of duties.
  • Support and assist the Treasury Manager and other staff in meeting deadlines and goals.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and present final project report to leadership at the end of the internship program.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College junior or above working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Business or Finance. If you are a recent graduate of an Accounting or Finance degree, you must be within 1 year of your graduation date.
  • No experience required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Ability to prepare and give presentations.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate with employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of business data and information.
  • Strong sense of professional accountability.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound business judgment on a regular basis.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously (67% or more) required to: use fingers and hands, communicate, and have close visual acuity. Employee is frequently (34-66%) required to: ascend/descend stairs, position self to access lower items, and move about the office. The employee may occasionally (less than 33%) be required to push and pull. Employee must be able to operate routine office equipment including computers and similar equipment. Must be able to routinely perform this work for an average of 6-8 hours per day and occasional extended hours as necessary. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or continuously to lift, carry, push, pull or sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work environment: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. No travel is required for this role.
