Tax Job, Independent CA Firm, West Lothian, £dependent-on-experience

Your new company
Hays is proud to be representing an independent firm of Chartered Accountants with two offices across the Central Belt. Founded well over half a century ago, this firm has grown and now approaches approximately 50 in number. With a brilliant trainee programme and excellent staff retention, around 3 quarters of their employees joined as school leavers or graduates and progressed. Whilst this has been successful and developed a brilliant family-feel culture - friendly, dynamic, supportive and collaborative - the firm's client base is developing quickly. As such, they would like to offer the opportunity for a tax professional to join them and their small Tax Team, as an experienced Tax Assistant, Tax Senior or Tax Supervisor, depending on your background and abilities. This firm offers a strong flexible working policy, allowing individuals to start anytime between 8am and 10am. Standard working hours are 35 per week. Due to present circumstances, this role may be completed remotely, albeit some in-office training may be required initially. This client is adhering to all government guidance from a COVID health and safety perspective.

Your new role
Reporting into the Tax Manager, you will be responsible for delivering and reviewing tax computations and submitting returns for a diverse client base, such as OMBs, Sole Traders, and HNWIs. There is the opportunity to cover both Personal and Corporate Tax, however, the client allocation will depend on your background and preference. You will also support the Tax Manager in relation to planning projects, and regularly speak with clients over email, the phone, and (when wider circumstances allow) in person. Further to this, you will supervise a Tax Administrator with mentoring and some training responsibilities. This is a brilliant opportunity to expand your technical and professional skills.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant, you will have a proven track record in delivering tax compliance services to Personal and/or Corporate clients. Being ATT qualified will enhance your application, but it is not essential. You will have excellent organisation and communication skills, with the ability to work to your own initiative whilst striving towards team goals.

What you'll get in return
In addition to working for a successful, growing and welcoming firm made up of friendly and credible professionals, you will receive a competitive salary. You will also receive 31.5 days annual leave, pension and become part of a firm-wide group life policy (4 x annual salary). Whilst the role is ideally full-time, as this is a newly created position part-time individuals may be considered. As alluded, this firm also offers an enviable flexible working policy and has both a high quality and varied client base.
