Job Description
Reports financial status by preparing and analyzing financial plans, forecasts, and reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare, review and distribute monthly financial and statistical reports.
Track and analyze expenses and revenue variances to budget.
Prepare monthly executive financial package.
Prepare annual financial information binder to be provided to the external auditors.
Prepare quarterly operating reports.
Create and update all financial and statistical reports.
Assist in the budget and forecasting process.
Maintain budget and forecast information in the accounting system.
Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed.
Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.
Identify areas of needed improvement based on financial and statistical reports and work with organizational leaders to implement sustainable change.
Implement performance benchmarks and related monthly monitoring.
Provide decision support through mining of statistical data.
Assist in assessing current and future state of reimbursement from third party payers, Medicaid and Medicare.
Other project and duties as assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting or financial analysis.
Healthcare Accounting experience a plus.
GAAP knowledge
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Excel and Access).
Strong Initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
Excellent Communication Skills.
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills.
Ability to complete projects timely and accurately.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience in Hospital Accounting and familiar with Meditech Software or similar programs
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), MBA a plus.
