PURPOSE:
  • Security Technology Services (STS) is a critical function within Standard Chartered Bank operating under the overall purview of "Technology Services" .
  • The STS team is made up of cyber security thought leaders, who are accountable for the provision of a global set of cyber security services and products in order to maintain and continuously improve Bank's cyber security posture in today's ever evolving cyber security landscape.
  • The STS function protects the Bank from cyber security threats by delivering effective information security technology services, managing and responding to security incidents to ensure, and support the continuity and growth of Bank's business operations; and meet the both internal and external stakeholders' expectations across 70+ countries and territories, in which SCB operates.
  • Within this function we are looking for a seasoned professional with experience in areas such as Financial Planning & Analysis, MI Reporting, Change Management, Closing & Reporting, People Management and Location management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Managing the end-to-end of various financial processes done by our finance teams, ensure that the quality is not compromised and be on top of all financial activities - Budgeting, Planning & Forecasting, Management reporting, Financial Analysis, Variance Analysis, Headcount reporting, Efficiency tracking, Cost Centre hygiene, Location Management and other FP&A activities.
  • Work closely with Accounting, Standard Reporting, and Planning & Control Teams
  • Understanding the financial processes end to end and quick in understanding the ad hoc requirements with ensuring quality and TAT of the output.
  • Location management, BCP plans, On-site Requests and Global escalation handling.
  • Handling a team, providing guidance and support in their work and doing a career planning for them.
  • Continuously reviewing all processes in order to identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Working with the other team leaders and across the Global Finance Services functions to ensure cooperation and smooth operations.
  • Continuous improvement in Productivity to drive the efficiencies in the team.
  • Upholding the Values of the Group and Company at all times.
  • Compliance with all applicable Rules/ Regulations and Company and Group Policies.
  • Demonstrating and created solutions for Strategic, Financial and Integrated Planning to enhance team performance.
  • Implement new audit techniques and procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance function
  • Automation solution owner for certain aspects of the financial process

KEY COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong Analytical and Strategic mindset coupled with a thorough understanding of Finance.
  • Have worked in Financial Planning & Analysis, Variance Analysis, Stakeholder management, MI Reporting.
  • Ability to understand and connect business drivers and rationale for and application of those relevant to the Performance management process.
  • Significant experience of working with senior management team and of interfacing with and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to understand financial statements and its drivers and synthesize them into meaningful analyses as required. Develop analysis & interpretations as required to facilitate management decision making.
  • A leader, a team player with the management ability and track record to secure the confidence and respect of the peers, stakeholders and the executive management team.
  • Ability to culturally orient in diverse & international team environment and lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, multi-task, lead through ambiguities, influence where he/she does not have direct authority & build on unstructured formative situations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • 10+ years of relevant finance experience in FP&A(mandatory) and Location Management(preferred)
  • Chartered Accountant or MBA is a plus
  • Effective communication skills, including presenting and influencing senior management.
  • Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Solid people and project management skills.
  • Leadership skills and ability to influence others in decision making.
  • Relationship and stakeholder management skills is important.
  • Initiative and proactive thinking
