The role

The ETEL Group Finance team is seeking to appoint a Management Accountant. This post could be a useful career development opportunity for a highly numerate individual with the right aptitudes and motivation. Comprehensive in-depth training will be provided.

People-skills and competence in IT are essentials for the post but a willingness to learn is crucial.

Study Package: Funding of exam/course, 1 days study leave plus 1 day leave for the exam. First sitting funded only (after probation period).

Hours: 8.30am - 5.00pm.

Reports to: Group Finance Manager

Main Purpose

To ensure consistent, precise and timely accounting procedures are adhered to throughout the ETEL group.

To ensure timely reporting of monthly management accounts to the management of ETEL and to the shareholders

To support and assist with annual external auditing and statutory accounts process and year-round communication with the Group's auditors

To maintain cost centre profit and loss account for Group functions and support cost centre owners in review and management of central costs.

To develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and advisors

Key accountabilities
1. Preparation of monthly management accounts for group holding company and various other non-trading entities within the group.
2. Assist with preparation of monthly consolidated financial information for the group (reported to ETEL board and shareholders)
3. Prepare monthly P&L Performance reports and detailed supporting analysis, work with cost centre owners to resolve queries in regard to P&L reports
4. Work alongside Group Finance Manager to support JSOX initial implementation plan and roll out across the business
5. Provide guidance and development to the team Finance assistant
6. Detailed involvement in planning, execution of finalisation of group external audit.
7. Preparation of statutory accounts (using IRIS) for all group companies from trial balance to final accounts.
8. Any other ad hoc work required by the Group Head of Finance or Group Finance Manager

Skills & experience

Part/ fully qualified ACCA or equivalent

Strong communication skills

Experience in advanced use of Excel

Experience of working to tight monthly reporting deadlines

An advantage: Experience of CODA, IRIS and Coupa, property accounting experience
