Hands on compliance element, taking on responsibility for all round accounting, tax and general accountancy practice services whilst the other half of the role will act as a right hand support to the directors, with involvement in wider ranging project work, taking on planning and advisory projects across a range of accounting/business and tax planning projects.

Client Details

Our client is a leading and growing accountancy practice based in the Lichfield area, highly regarded and undergoing continued positive growth and expansion. Their Business Services team numbers around twenty people, with partner and managerial team of around four to five people managing a team of accounting professionals varying in level, background and experience. The firms clients are diverse in turnover and industry across OMBs, SMEs and wide ranging corporate limited company clients, with a core turnover into the £millions and decent number of larger corporates, charities, OMBs and other clients requiring audit services.

Description

Joining as a Senior Accountant, based in their Lichfield offices, this role would be mixed, potentially as much as 50 /50. The first half of the role will cover an expected hands on compliance element, taking on responsibility for all round accounting, tax and general accountancy practice services to a mixed client base, up into the millions in turnovers.

Alongside this, as the other half of the role, you will act as a right hand support to the directors, with involvement in wider ranging project work, taking on planning and advisory projects across a range of accounting/business and tax planning projects.

It therefore offers the chance for a recently qualified professional, or suitably qualified by experience professional, to build on this side of their career getting involved in more added value project work, as a key addition and right hand support to the directors.

This will be moulded as much as possible to offer work in areas of interest. Therefore, should you be interested to develop on the tax side perhaps, you could get more exposure to tax planning projects across personal and corporate tax, or get involved in business sales and analytical, analysis work on this side alternatively. Or a mix of project work right across accounting and tax.

The directors are sounding very open to someone pursuing further studies if they wanted CTA etc, so the opportunity offers an excellent chance to carve a career, with some destiny on your own career direction, autonomy and involvement in wider ranging advisory project and more added value work.

Profile

You will be ACA, ACCA qualified, or suitably qualified by experience with a strong and demonstrable career background within accountancy practice.

You will be looking to further your accounting career, following qualification or build further on a compliance focused background so far, preparing accounts, tax and general practice responsibilities for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Experience of audit would be welcomed, but not essential in any way, as the client work can be moulded entirely around the preferences and strengths of the right professional here. The opportunity offers an excellent chance to carve a career, with some destiny on your own career direction, autonomy and involvement in wider ranging advisory project and more added value work.

Job Offer

Circa £32,000 - £38,000 dependent on the background and level of the right professional, negotiable, plus benefits.
