Senior Product Tax Analyst (Supervisor)

 

 

Location: Wroclaw / Łódź, Poland

 

Senior Product Analysts support and assist the Assistant Product Managers and Product Managers by helping with the resolution of key product issues, fulfillment of business operational requests, providing requirements and validation support with new enhancements to the SAP system. They will be responsible for researching SAP and a designated area of responsibility and then utilizing their findings to provide expertise and guidance throughout global teams. The Senior Product Analyst will manage and supervise initiatives, projects, and collaborate with third party consultants within their functional area.

 

In this role, the Senior Product Analyst will provide primary support for the tax functions of the SAP global solution. From a technology perspective, this role covers SAP tax localization for European, Middle Eastern, and African countries, as well as SAP integration with Thomson Reuters’ Onesource (formerly Sabrix) for indirect tax, SAP withholding tax determination, and Onesource, SAP ECC, and SAP BW for tax reporting for countries ranging from the UK to South Africa to Pakistan. From an industry perspective, this role covers global tax policies in a professional services environment.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Leads the resolution of L3 tickets alongside Assistant Product Managers and Product Managers
  • Leads enhancement request, business operational request, and service request fulfillment
  • Leads development of requirements and validation of designated enhancements
  • Designs and implements technical solutions for tax changes in SAP/Onesource
  • Works with ECC SD, MM, FI, T&E and ABAP teams on functional design changes
  • Interacts with Environments team to resolve system health issues and manage product upgrades
  • Manages change control for configurations and system upgrades, including regression testing and coordination of user acceptance testing
  • Maintains tax-related functional and technical documentation
  • Able to perform the Implementation/Roll-out projects & handling support issues without escalations
  • Analyzes and deciphers diverse requirements from multiple countries
  • Collaborates with the team to classify and prioritize defects related to the process/product and makes decisions based on assessments
  • Develops and delivers presentations to help clients understand their product’s functionality
  • Creates executive summaries to help clients understand the functional and financial impacts of issues
  • Manages impacts to other processes and products
  • Leverages feedback solicited from the business into workload prioritization efforts
  • Oversees product update and enhancement lifecycle with emphasis on demand, requirements, validation, and securing business signoff
  • Participates in requirements review, test case reviews, and user acceptance testing for functionality
  • Manages functional incidents and service requests through full lifecycle (through closure)
  • Provides technical incident, service request, and problem tickets management oversight and prioritization
  • Provides major incident oversight and communicates status to the business in a timely manner
  • Oversees SLA compliance for all workloads and re-prioritizes tickets if necessary
  • Understands and assesses the financial impacts of incidents related to disrupted product processes – assisting the business work through complex errors and reconciliations
  • Conducts analysis of application lifecycle to identify design flaws and realize process efficiencies
  • Works with HR staff to recruit, interview, hire appropriate employees
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops team members, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning
  • Proficient at people management, budgeting and managing the project
  • Prepares periodic reports for management as necessary to track strategic goal accomplishment

 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years’ experience in a large business system environment, performing business analysis, business development, and/or project management with a preferred focus on SAP Tax and Onesource Indirect Tax.
  • 5 to 6 years’ hands-on experience in Onesource Indirect Tax configuration
  • 5 to 6 years’ hands-on experience in SAP Indirect Tax configuration with EU specialization, as well as SAP integration to Onesource (Global Next) or other third-party tax solutions in EU and GCC countries
  • Must have hands-on experience with Company Code setup, Trans Editors, Authority and Rule customization, TCQ’s, Product Mapping, Product Qualifiers, Customer Exemptions, etc.
  • Must have knowledge on entire set up of third-party indirect tax solutions
  • Must have hands-on experience in SAP indirect tax configuration and reporting
  • 3 to 4 years’ hands-on experience in production support (primarily in SAP and/or Onesource Indirect Tax)
  • Preferred 2 to 3 years’ experience in SAP Extended Withholding Tax
  • Preferred 2 to 3 years’ experience in SAP SD, MM, FI-AP/AR configuration and master data integration

 

 

Certification Requirements

  • SAP certification preferred
  • Thomson Reuters Onesource Indirect Tax Determination certification preferred

 

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Functional and/or technical experience in supporting global systems (i.e. SAP, Onesource) including knowledge of data flows, processes and best practices
  • Proven knowledge of software development lifecycle methods, processes, tools and best practices
  • Documentation, communication and presentation skills that support accurate and concise messaging
  • Experienced and comfortable working with culturally diverse outsourced on/offshore staff for Project work and Production Support (Run) service delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal, client service, communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to react appropriately during crisis situations
  • Operate in a dynamic, fast moving and changing environment
  • Operate in a global matrix environment
