LOCATION: Office of Sponsored Programs

STARTING HOURLY RATE: $17.48 + hourly, depending upon education and experience, GH

POSITION PURPOSE: Financial reporting including patent, property and BOR reporting for multiple agencies; external funding billing and invoicing including running billing processes, converting reports to paper or electronic billing, identifying and eliminating unallowable costs/charges, communicating with funding agencies, data entry and reconciling; project close outs including interpreting agency guidelines and OMB Circulars, working with PI's concerning account expenditures and projections, processing corrections and transfers, compiling documentation to complete fiscal requirements for closing out awards; review and approve electronic personnel action forms (EPAF); review and approve internal transactions, including preparation of journal vouchers; and other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:
• generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), practices and standards.
• generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS).

Ability to:
• interpret, comprehend, and apply laws, rules, and regulations for a variety of funding agencies and the State of SD.
• research, compile and analyze data, providing high level of accuracy with attention to detail.
• establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with students, faculty, staff, and outside agencies.
• communicate information clearly, concisely, and accurately to others both in oral and written form, expressing ideas in a manner that the user can understand, exercising tact, patience, and professional demeanor.
• handle multiple tasks, prioritize accordingly, and meet strict deadlines.
• use a computer.
• provide outstanding customer service.

COMMENTS: Occasional travel, including overnight stays, may be required.
