About This Role:
Recreational Services is looking for an Accountant II to join our team! The Accountant II reports to the Director and is responsible for managing all the financial aspects and human resource functions of Recreational Services. This position will ensure the university funding is appropriately monitored and accounted for within guidelines.
This position also serves as the department liaison to Human Capital Services and is responsible for managing the hiring process for all new staff within the department.
Hours will be Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Two years of relevant experience
- Two years of college with a minimum of two years in an office setting using computers, customer service and accounting principle
- Experience with K-State and the State of Kansas regulations, budgeting and the University FIS system
- Knowledge of accounting/budget principles, practices, standards and procedures
- Ability to analyze, interpret and reconcile financial information, taking appropriate corrective action when necessary
- Ability to detect and reconcile discrepancies in financial records
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other agency/department representatives
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
- Must be eligible to become a Notary Public
