Our client is one of the world's largest companies in Energy and leading the transition to Renewables across the globe. After a continued push into Asia Pacific, where most of their activity and growth is, they are working with us to bring on a Financial Controller on a 9 month contract based in Singapore.

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

  • Coordinates the monthly closing and the forecast exercise
  • Cascades the Group instructions and defines the main deadlines to the Clusters
  • Consolidates the BU and ensures consistency of the key financial and performance indicators, as well as the detailed management analyses (Opex, YoY bridges, capex report, etc.)
  • Ensures that the systems are aligned with the managerial view
  • Challenges the financial performance in collaboration with the Senior Business Controllers in charge of clusters
  • Produces the periodic regional (Performance Dashboard) and Group reporting
  • Analyses impacts of new accounting standards and coordinate their implementation
  • Ensures proper internal control and assist documentation of these controls
  • Coordinates transversal projects (e.g. common finance, cash dashboard...)
  • Is the entry point for Group Finance, and in particular FP&A team.

Qualifications of the Financial Controller:

  • Master's degree, MBA or CPA preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or similar, ideally in energy sector
  • At least 10 years of relevant business experience
  • Strong analytical reasoning; Ability to make accurate and relevant financial analysis, assessments and judgments
  • Ability to understand what drives value in our activity, and measure the performance of our activities
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Very good communication skills in English: written and oral in a concise and "to the point" style
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative, anticipation and sense of urgency
  • Able to manage various and shifting priorities, able to adapt quickly in an environment with tight deadlines and high-quality standards
  • Pragmatic with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage constructively with controllers, IFRS experts, corporate financiers, financial advisors, tax managers and consolidation experts in HQ
  • Capability to summarize (synthetic mindset)

This role will be on a fixed 9 month contract with the opportunity to become permanent provided the performance is seen. Our client will pay an attractive monthly salary and is able to take someone on immediately.
