Tax Learning Lead – 6 Month Maternity Leave Cover Contract

This role, reporting to the Head of Talent & Organisation Development, is responsible for driving the learning curriculum for each service line within the tax practice in the Republic of Ireland (UKI & FS) This comprises of corporate tax, income tax, indirect tax, capital taxes, transfer pricing, research and development tax and tax-wide learning. This is a great opportunity for you to merge both your technical tax knowledge and your learning and development experience.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the implementation of EY’s Technical Tax Learning Strategy
  • Analyse the effectiveness of current tax technical curriculum, making content amendments where necessary
  • Developing relationships within the tax practice and wider firm to build a strong network- liaising and reporting to ROI Partners, ROI Learning Champions, UK Talent Team, EMEIA Talent Team and other key stakeholders within the business on all tax training initiatives
  • Creation, negotiation and monitoring of the learning budget – to include the creation of monthly reforecasts and monthly accruals and reporting to finance, operations and key stakeholders
  • Own delivery of in-house tax exam support programme
  • Technical tax course facilitation; Internal facilitator recruitment and training – including the ability to assess technical tax ability of facilitators
  • Course evaluation, reporting, feedback to facilitators and course amendments where necessary
  • Own Tax learning communications strategy through regular reporting to Tax Partners, Tax Leadership and wider Tax Practice through Town Halls/Partner Meetings
  • L&D Projects, e.g. On-the-job learning application, SharePoint site design and management.
  • Liaise with Education Team, Talent Team, Finance etc. regarding Taxation Examinations, Graduate, Intern and Work-Placement On-boarding and designing technical content for same
  • Skills and attributes for success

  • Facilitation experience
  • Budget creation, negotiation and management experience
  • Excellent team player- ability to integrate and build effective relationships at all levels
  • Ability to build strong relationships with leadership and key stakeholders
  • Ability to present and report to leadership and key stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Project management skills, plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines.
  • To qualify for the role ideally you’ll have:

  • Experience in designing tax technical content from junior to senior levels with an organisation
  • Learning and development experience in a professional services firm or similar AITI taxation qualification
  • A passion and interest in the wider Talent Development Agenda
