Alliance Resource Group has partnered with an up and coming healthcare start–up in Los Angeles searching for a Controller. The group has a unique proprietary technology that is innovating and changing the healthcare industry. This will be a full team build out and you will be establishing the accounting policies and procedures throughout the firm. The role will be directly reporting to the CFO and will play a quintessential part of the company' s growth.

Essential functions

Build out from the ground up and manage, lead, and mentor the accounting team including (AP, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant and General Accountant).
Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, management reports, forecasts, and other reporting, as necessary.
Strong ability to execute, implement and manage the month–end process.
Develop best practices for accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to yours and the companies liking.
Demonstrated experience with the technical accounting and treatment related to opening balance sheet of the targeted acquisitions (ideally, both Stock and Asset transactions).
Review non–routine transactions, determine accounting treatment, and develop necessary policies and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining on task with timelines and deliverables.
Experience in a private equity owned company is preferred, along with a proven track record of driving process improvement in a company that is growing rapidly.
Perform support in annual tax return preparation by external tax group.
Spearhead the company to accounting practices that are in accordance with GAAP.
Be the main liaison for transactional support in relation to the annual audit and other audits (sales tax and property tax).
Implement and ERP systems that you and the company think best suites the long term plan of the company.
Provide timely and accurate reconciliations on cash for daily credit monitoring.
Approve and review the prepared monthly journal entries.
Prepare and review the monthly reconciliations.
Due diligence for proposed transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions and financing.
Able to utilize communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.

Education and Experience Required:

A Bachelor' s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required, ideally with

an MBA or related degree. CPA designation required (inactive or active) – we will not review candidates who do not have a CPA.

Executive level financial management experience highly desired.
Mature and proactive, with experience working as a business partner to senior management.
Must have strong understanding of GAAP.
Required that you must come from a public accounting background preferably Big 4.
Knowledge of accounting computer application systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, controls and reporting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Excellent team player committed to lifelong learning.
