We seek an experienced accounting professional with a credit union or bank to bring their experience to complete our team. This position will assist the Accounting Manager with various financial analysis and reporting functions. Financial responsibilities include preparing an extensive variety of regulatory and management financial statements and reports. This position requires a strong ability to multi–task and to create, develop, interpret, communicate, and implement complex financial analyses for various purposes. Completes the reconcilement of all asset and liability accounts. Coordinates research efforts to identify and document outstanding entries to the general ledger. Works with other departments to resolve general ledger related problems that become apparent during the reconcilement process. Acts as a team lead by providing training and support to other members of the department. Assists the Accounting Manager with new projects or other assignments as needed.Job Duties: Ensure the department efficiently and effectively carries out ongoing A/P, A/R, G/L, Reporting, and Reconciliation activity.Assist with the completion of the call report and other regulatory reporting on a timely and accurate basis.Monitor and report the financial performance of branches and departments within the credit union to Management.Recommends and coordinates efforts to improve accounting processes.Support annual external financial statement audit.Assist in project management, implementing Prologue Accounting Software, and assisting the SVP Finance in the credit union and the accounting department's overall objectives and goals.Serve as back–up within the department.Requirements:Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.Experience: 3 – 5 years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Strongly prefer candidates with prior financial institution accounting experience.General Knowledge and understanding of GAAP and its application in the framework of a credit union.Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projectionsKnowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, financial and accounting reporting systems, and federal and state regulations preferredMust have excellent analytical and problem–solving skills.Must have high regard for details to ensure accuracy with each transaction; follow–through on corrections and detailsExcellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsWe offer an outstanding benefits package along with a competitive salary.
