Position DescriptionAs an Engineering Technician III, you will perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. You will select or adapt standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. You will receive initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; perform recurring work independently; review work for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.You will perform at this level one, or a combination of such typical duties as: Prepare, modify and maintain plans, designs, drawings, and schematics for C4ISR systems and components. Work from sketches, notes, and verbal instructions. Perform site surveys and capture existing data and make recommendations to implement new equipment and infrastructure. Perform complex equipment installation tasks requiring consideration of multiple variables. Receive general guidance/supervision but normally works independently on mastered tasks. Will be required to lead small teams in performance of tasks. QualificationsQualifications and Requirements:High School diploma and 5–7 years of practical experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) C4ISR related field performing engineering design, installation and maintenance.At least 3 years of experience with installing Shore DoD or US Navy C4ISR systems.Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints for C4ISR or Cable Plant Systems.Efficient use of common power and hand tools, and test equipmentMust be able to distinguish between different colorsMust possess manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks Must have the ability to climb ladders and lift and carry items weighing (50 lb.)Must be able to travel 75% of the time, OCONUS and CONUSMust have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Level Security ClearanceMust be able to successfully undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug screening.Must have two (2) years' experience in the following: Installation of Conduit and various types of Cable Tray SystemsInstallation, Termination and Testing of Copper–Based Structured Cabling SystemsInstallation, Termination, Splicing and Testing of Fiber Optic CablingPreferred: BICSI Installer 1 or 2 CertificationMilitary Ground or Shipboard RADAR Installation and Maintenance experienceClimb certificationValid Driver's LicenseA Valid US Passport Possess one of the following: Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or Information TechnologyCompletion of four (4) years of U.S. military service with one of the following technical ratings. Electronics Technician with Advanced Training, Interior Communication (IC) with Advanced Training, Information System Technician (IT), Radioman (RM) (legacy rating), or Data System Technician (DS) (legacy rating)Completion of a formal two year or more contractor apprenticeship in a related field that included at least six months of formal classroom training that addressed electrical circuit theory, electromagnetic radiation, and other disciplines related to C4ISR installationsMilitary Veterans and Spouses encouraged to apply.Company OverviewSerco Inc.
