Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the accounting function for SEA System
  • Continually seeking to improve accounting processes and operational effectiveness
  • Mentoring and developing the accounting team and fostering a positive working environment
  • Risk Management, in collaboration with Finance Director, ensure there are appropriate internal control and compliance with local tax, legal and other regulatory requirements and where needed implement global risk management procedures (e.g. segregation of duties, controls, documentation, archiving, emergency procedures)
  • Proactively monitor changes in the local legislation landscape
  • Ensure that local practices comply with BCG policies
  • Provides ad hoc information as required; both locally and to Global Services
Accounting:
  • Managing the local Accounts Payable and General Ledger functions
  • Responsible for overseeing the preparation of the statutory financial statements of SEA entities
  • Lead the local audit and liaise with the finance team in preparing all required documentation and schedules and with the auditors and Global Accounting team.
  • Provide support during internal & external audits (tax and accounting)
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory and US GAAP accounting requirements, proactively monitor changes in the regulatory landscape
  • Manage the month-end closing process
  • Review monthly reconciliations and highlight areas of risk
  • Building and formalizing various BCG finance and accounting policies
  • Managing company secretarial matters
Planning, Reporting and Analysis:
  • Provide timely and meaningful reporting & analysis to management and Global Accounting Services
  • Actively participate in the annual planning process; prepares Other Costs, CAPEX and Tax forecasts, prepares meaningful variance analysis
  • Provides meaningful cost analysis and help to identify and recommend on cost reductions
  • Supports the Functional Heads in managing their department costs
Taxation & Treasury:
  • Oversee the Country Accountants for timely completion of tax returns, Tax Planning Template (TPT), VAT filings and other Indirect Tax filings
  • Work with SEA Tax Manager and SEA Mobility & Payroll Manager to ensure corporate, indirect taxes and wage tax compliance
  • Supervise the preparation of VAT filings
  • Treasury management which includes monitoring the short and long term cash position of the company

Qualifications 
  • Professional qualification CIMA/CPA/ACCA; Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and with a minimum of 12 years of general accounting experience, preferably in a professional services and international environment
  • Knowledge of statutory and US GAAP financial accounting and reporting
  • With tax working knowledge is an advantage
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Strong organization skills, orientation to detail and resourcefulness
  • Pro-active, willing to take initiative and responsibility, seeks continuous improvement
  • Ability to work under time constraints and produce accurate results
