Job Description

Overview

Zendesk is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who wants to make an impact on the trajectory of the Go-To-Market organisation at a high growth and fast-paced company. As a member of the Finance & Strategy team, the primary responsibility is to work closely with GTM leaders in APAC and their teams as a trusted financial advisor to support and influence the organisation's strategic priorities.

The Senior Financial Analyst's role is integral to driving Zendesk's growth sustainably by providing leadership with data-driven insights and recommendations on resource allocation, delivering timely, reliable and meaningful financial and KPI reporting, and ensuring rigorous forecasting and budgeting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide decision support and act as a thought partner to GTM leadership, from day-to-day operational decisions to large-scale strategic shifts.
  • Perform relevant ongoing and ad hoc analyses to drive business insights and synthesise complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for regional management. Includes prospect to customer funnel analysis, initiatives to improve ROI across Sales & Marketing functions, initiatives to reduce customer churn and contraction, partner strategy support and resource allocation across segments, geographies and business functions.
  • Build and improve upon robust financial models to accurately forecast and plan key financial and operational metrics, including bookings, churn, pipeline, costs and headcount.
  • Deliver relevant, timely and accurate reporting on key financial and operational metrics. Maintain, monitor and analyze historical and forecasted KPI reporting with specific focus on trends, revealing opportunities and managing risks.
  • Establish processes and drive process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimise financial systems, improve forecasting accuracy, create tools, and improve operating processes.
  • Own standardised financial monthly / quarterly budgeting and internal / external reporting processes through disciplined execution of deliverables. Apply good understanding of accounting in order to produce accurate forecasts; work closely with Controller's group to ensure accuracy and completeness during period-end close.


Skills/Experience:

  • 4-6+ years of technology, banking, private equity, corporate finance, economics or consulting experience in a fast-paced industry
  • Advanced skills in building scalable financial models (via Excel or Google suite), with ability to understand and translate how their inputs/outputs determine business outcomes
  • Strong analytical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills with commitment to achieving quality results - able to understand strategic impact on the wider business and yet operate at a detailed tactical level
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships and influence senior leadership as the role leads to becoming a trusted finance business partner to senior leadership in APAC
  • Proficiency in using, managing, and building-out planning tools & applications. Experience with SQL database, Tableau, Netsuite, and/or Hyperion a significant advantage
  • Highly-motivated self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and change
