Great news! We're currently seeking a Finance Manager to be based at our Vaughan headquarters.

Job Summary

As the Finance Manager, you'll have responsibility for the coordination and execution of all daily activities of the Accounting Department in order to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of the financial results of the Company. You'll have 4 direct reports to facilitate accounting activities however you'll also be required to take a hands-on approach to ensure all accounting responsibilities are completed in a timely manner. You'll report directly to the Group Controller for ASSA ABLOY Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
• Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
• Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Perform complete analytical review of operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective
• Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances
• Supervision of all accounts payable processed in corporate office. This includes corporate payables, payables for entities, allocations of costs incurred on behalf of multiple entities
• Coordinate the preparation of annual tax return with outside CA firm
• Supervise the preparation of semi-monthly payroll for 3 divisions
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Perform other responsibilities as required

Management & Development of Staff

• Manage a team of 4 accounting staff
• Evaluate individual and collective performance on an ongoing basis
• Ensure departmental goals and objectives consistent with Company needs are established annually
• Encourage professional development and access to learning programs for staff
• Mentor department staff to assist in their career growth

Education and Experience

• CA, CMA or CGA designation
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
• JD Edwards and Hyperion experience is an asset
