Management Consulting- Director (CFO Advisory) Summary:

RSM is currently seeking an experienced Consulting Director with a successful track record and strong advisory background to serve as a leader within our CFO Advisory Practice. As a leader within the CFO Advisory Practice, you will support both the development and growth of the practice while drawing upon your experience as a means to advise and guide our clients to solve their complex business needs. You experience will enable you to pursue, close and execute services such as Finance Strategy, Operating Model Design, Finance Assessments, Business / Finance Transformation, including the alignment and enablement of necessary and appropriate technologies and automation.

All engagements will require your leadership and guidance, managing teams deployed, delivering quality and also the optimal client experience. This position also requires relationship building, on and off-site client management, staff supervision / coaching, operations and risk management, while serving our key markets and industries internally.

  • Oversee the execution of projects to help optimize all elements of the finance function including but not limited to: Finance Assessment, Business Process Improvement, Shared Services Implementation, Business Case Development, Post-Merger Integration, Finance Automation, Finance Transformation, Finance Technology Deployment
  • Expert understanding of Finance and Accounting function and the people, process, and technology that support the finance function
  • Subject matter expert in financial business processes, including: Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report, Acquire to Retire, Forecasting and Planning, including other functions under the CFO purview
  • Responsible for the overall quality of work delivered to clients and facilitating issue resolution with clients
  • Drive internal and external business development activities and regularly identifies and sells new opportunities through various channels
  • Expert understanding of firm capabilities and ability to expand client services across lines of business
  • Overall responsibility for engagement/project financials and subsequent impacts on firm financials
  • Demonstrates industry expertise and able to drive targeting, marketing and training activities within industry. Align on efforts with national industry teams
  • Serve as client service relationship lead and ensure quality client services are delivered. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks.
  • Develop new products, solutions and deliverables for the rapidly changing Finance environment

Basic Qualifications:
  • Provide mentoring and motivate diverse client engagement teams by delivering constructive on-the-job coaching to team members, while fostering an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA preferred
  • Minimum 8 - 12+ years of experience in a public accounting or consulting firm providing consulting or accounting services, - or relevant CFO / Controller related business experience
  • Experience consulting with accounting, financial, operational, technology and other management personnel to improve their businesses
  • Experience in multiple of the following focus areas:
  • Finance Strategy
  • Finance Function Transformation and Technology Enablement (Automation)
  • Business Process Improvement
  • Shared Services Advisory
  • Finance Post Merger Integration
  • Expertise, knowledge and aptitude for developing and delivering accounting and technology services solutions
  • Experience with practice development and management, marketing and thought leadership resulting in new business relationships to the Firm
  • Experience in managing client relationships and leveraging them to sell Firm solutions
  • Ability to effectively manage overall client relationships to exceed client expectations in a sophisticated large consulting or accounting firm environment
  • Ability to provide effective communication to both client and project team
  • Ability to travel > 50 % locally and internationally

Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful track record delivering diverse / complex finance related solutions
  • Strong understanding of technology, including system selection, implementation management or application optimization experience
  • Experience supporting the management and / or development of a practice, including people management, financial management, and growth initiatives
  • Motivated to work and contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented, client focused environment
  • Natural aptitude for solving complex client problems
  • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Driven to exceed client expectations
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Presents themselves in a professional manor interacting with business owners
  • Industry or profession focused certification (Six Sigma / CPA a plus)
