The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Associate or Assistant Manager to join the Digital Assurance team in our Sydney office. This role is offered on a flexible full-time basis. This role will continue to build our analytics capabilities for our digital audit and innovation initiatives. You will use your data analytics, ETL capabilities and project management experience to support external financial audits, whilst also working with the wider assurance digital team to build new and transform existing capabilities.

Your key responsibilities

You will deliver results by using data analytics to deal with large, disparate volumes of data to assist your client group gain critical insights. Your ability to evaluate, identify and extract data from complex IT systems will ensure success in this role. You will have a chance to lead a team whilst also work with the ASX top 50 listed clients and the latest data systems to enjoy a truly rewarding and successful career at EY.

  • Helping clients to identify and extract required data from complex IT systems including SAP and Oracle
  • Be first point of contact for your projects and providing guidance to other team members
  • Using analytical and visualisation software to access, transform, integrate, analyse and visualise client data to help solve real problems and identify real opportunities through identification of anomalies and unusual patterns and trends in data
  • Delivering results by using automated data analytics solutions to deal with large, disparate volumes of data, to gain critical insights quickly
  • Assisting in the development of additional analytics capability within the Assurance Digital team


Skills and attributes for success

  • Tertiary education qualification(s) in Business, IT or STEM related disciplines
  • 3-5 years experience in an analytics role
  • Experience with using Alteryx, Tableau, Spotfire or PowerBI to access, transform, integrate, analyse and visualise client data
  • Experience with Databases such as Microsoft SQL or Oracle SQL
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript


Ideally, you'll also have

  • A passion for working with data and learning new methodologies, applications and skills for analysis
  • Experience in a professional services firm (not essential)
  • Experience in RPA development using tools such as Blue Prism is a plus
