JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for testing software.
- Collaborates with engineering teams and federal certification testing departments to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of software applications.
- Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess control and manage risks of product quality and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Audits quality systems for development acceptance criteria (parameters based on product result).
- May undertake root cause analysis of incidents requiring corrective action.
- Ensures that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
- May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement.
- Assigns work processes and tasks to QA staff for proper testing and support.
- Understands the key features and components of manual vs automation testing and the implementation of both.
- Has successfully executed Blackbox, white box, and smoke testing and can articulate these testing strategies to both leadership and staff.
- Implements best practices and processes where necessary to maximize efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Experience with and ability to manage a Quality Assurance unit within a SAFe agile methodology framework.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT:
- Directly supervises individual contributors (skilled technicians, administrative support) and/or entry level professionals (accountants, entry-level engineers)
- Reallocates resources when necessary to maximize support for upcoming development pipeline releases.
- Maintains progress reports and other reporting details about current completed, pass/fail, and "to be executed" testing statistics for a given release.
- Ability to work side by side with development teams and their leadership to successfully coordinate and execute a positive QA testing strategy that covers all necessary areas of a given release including regression testing without compromising quality standards.
SCOPE:
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.
- Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
- Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.
- Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies.
- Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives.

- Primary purpose of liaison is information sharing and basic problem resolution.
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
