Position Summary: A dynamic and challenging Finance Manager opportunity within the Molecular Biology business unit of Thermo Fisher. This role is a key member of the team responsible for business partner support as well as supporting key business unit (BU) operating mechanisms. This Finance Manager role will be a lead business partner providing strategic financial support, analysis, strategic modelling, overall reporting insight and guidance to the team. This includes trend analysis, risk and opportunity insight, KPI management, monthly reporting and forecasting, and investment case analysis. In addition, this role will be supporting key operating mechanisms in the business such as forecasting, monthly business reviews, AOP, and Strategic planning. This position has one direct report and will work closely with finance and BU leadership to help execute upon both short and long–term business and financial commitments.Key Responsibilities: Primary finance business partner for key segment and product line leaders, providing financial insight and recommendations to deliver on our financial objectives and growth strategiesLead return on investment analysis within the BU and develop financial scenarios and models to facilitate strategic planning and capital deployment decisionsDemonstrate FP leadership with timely, accurate, and value–added informationDevelop, coach, and provide leadership to one direct reportOwn elements of key operating mechanisms in the BU such as STRAP, AOP, monthly forecasting and reporting, Quarterly business reviews, and Monthly business reviewsManage capital spend and forecasting to drive business execution in line with AOP commitmentsFunctional business partner support to R, Marketing, and Commercial, with associated monthly OPEX reporting and forecastingWork closely with commercial, operations, and the business to identify areas to accelerate growth and drive productivityDrive a continuous improvement approach with a focus on automation, enhancing processes, and elevating business partner support where applicableSupport other initiatives, special projects, requests, and ad–hoc financial analysis as requiredLeverage and build upon data warehouse reporting through robust and intuitive PowerBI reportsMinimum Education and Experience Requirements: Degree in Accounting or Finance6+ years of direct experience in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting leadership within a large, professionally managed operating companyExperience with Hyperion/CMR and EDW–Cognos preferred.Excel super user with advanced knowledge of pivots, charts, and formulasAbility to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with peers, and upper managementDemonstrate mental awareness, flexibility, and adaptability to accommodate and balance needs / competing interests of groups within the organization (Regions, Divisions, Global Operations)Self–motivated; bias for actionEffective oral and written communication skillsDemonstrates and drives the Thermo Fisher values – Integrity, Intensity, Involvement, and Innovation (The Four I's)
