Department Overview:

Internal Audit (IA) have had a presence in Citi Belfast since 2016 - the team includes auditors and professional practices staff providing quality assurance and operational support.

At the beginning of 2020 we established a new team to manage IAs recently implemented resource scheduling tool, resulting from a global strategic initiative for the department. The Resource Scheduling Team is responsible for contributing to the optimization of IA's global staff, and currently comprises of 6 Resource Consultants at Assistant Vice President (C12) level and a Senior Resource Manager at Vice President (C13) level.

Role Overview:

Due to continued growth the team now have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Resource Manager at Senior Vice President (C14) level to lead this team.

This is a senior level management position responsible for managing a complex and critical unit within Internal Audit. The successful candidate will be responsible for resource management, ensuring audit engagements are staffed with the right people and at the right time. This individual will be responsible for understanding team's business areas, resolving scheduling conflicts, maximizing resources, identifying developmental opportunities through cross-team staffing and assisting with the team's resourcing strategy. This role is a key member of the IA Professional Practices Team and works closely with senior IA leaders across the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and managing the centralized resource management team
  • Partners with IA leadership to understand the resourcing demand and supply to ensure IA teams are adequately staffed throughout the year
  • Drives cultural change across IA to embed scheduling into IA planning
  • Leads resource strategy, partnering with IA executive management team
  • Identifies and escalates risk and opportunities of the resource schedules
  • Anticipates potential staffing conflicts, shortages, surpluses and proactively manages them by identifying solutions
  • Collaborates within the IA Resource Management Team and Audit Teams, to maximize resource sharing and ensure adequate audit plan delivery is timely;
  • Responsible for reviewing and maintaining the global scheduling principles and procedures
  • Acts as a trusted advisor and engages with executive management on scheduling activities
  • Understand Human Capital metrics, sourcing, employee relations, strategies, goals and critical achievement targets;
  • Establish and leverage relationships with IA staff to positively impact our people experience;
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify issues and to develop and execute action plans across all areas of our people strategy including diversity, individual and team development, performance management, rewards and recognition, and workforce planning to address short and long term needs/skill gaps;
  • Understand IA to positively influence deployment decisions with goal of balancing workload, optimizing utilization, promoting flexibility, diversity initiatives, and providing broad-based experiences and developmental opportunities while balancing firm and client needs;
  • Responsible for ensuring data within the scheduling software is accurate and current
  • Assist with staffing decisions while considering individual development needs, career interests, and broad-based experiences;
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging human capital technology trends and experience innovating with new human capital technology tools.


  • Qualifications:

  • Experience in a related role or experience in business, human capital and resource management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to execute across IA teams with high quality and strict timetables
  • Displays leadership presence and will earn trust with senior leaders
  • A self-aware, self-confident individual who has well developed listening skills, and an ability to engage a group of accomplished business unit heads who are partners to the IA audit team with regards to resource management activities
  • Good interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external audit and senior management.
  • Prior people management experience preferred


  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
