Audit Associate SGUnitedTraineeships SGUP

This position reports to the Audit Manager and interfaces with the Firm's clients. The audit trainee will be under specific Audit Senior(s) throughout his/ her traineeship journey.

The trainee will have to attend training conducted by the Firm's Audit Managers and Partners on audit methodology, audit technical skills and competencies, financial reporting standards as well as usage of audit software and Excel shortcuts.

The trainee will be given opportunities to apply the practical concepts and theories taught during training when they perform the audit engagements assigned to him/her. He/she will gain on-the-job training during interactions with clients at clients' on-site premises and will also attend client meetings accompanied by the Audit Senior or Manager.

The trainee's responsibilities include:

• Deliver quality external audit services to clients
• Plan engagements and audit strategies to comply with professional standards (Singapore Financial Reporting Standards)
• Provide independent verification of clients' compliance with accounting principles
• Review the documentation and assist to evaluate the audit evidence obtained
• Review client's statutory accounts and cash flow statements
• Contribute to identifying and resolving audit issues

Competencies:

• Gain understanding in audit strategies and compliance
• Industry experience in audit sampling and financial reporting
• In depth understanding in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards
• Gain experience with Pro Audit Systems

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

Traineeship Duration:

9 months

Eligibility Criteria for SGUnitedTraineeships:

• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
• Graduated or graduating in calendar year 2019 or 2020 from ITEs, polytechnics, universities, or other educational institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
• Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2019 or 2020.
