The opportunity
We are currently looking for individuals with experience working in the Insurance sector or advising Insurance clients and who possess strong regulatory, risk management and internal controls knowledge to join the EY Financial Services Risk Management team.
Your key responsibilities
Design, implement and/or deliver reviews of compliance programsConduct assessments of regulatory risk at all levels of EY clients’ corporate structuresProvide advisory services to clients on the development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems and controls, comparing against Hong Kong regulatory requirements and international best practices as well as identifying opportunities for enhancementWork with clients to respond to the findings of regulatory examinations and support the resolution of issues Lead and help deliver regulatory compliance, risk assessment and business process control reviews, including the development of project and work plans / approachesDevelop innovative solutions to clients to help implement change triggered by regulatory issues, including the development of implementation strategies and providing support throughout implementation phasesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory developments both locally and internationally, and support internal training initiatives with the wider teamParticipate in the identification of market trends / hot topics and support the development of thought leadership/market-facing points of viewIdentify and participate in the development of business relationships and revenue opportunities with clients Skills and attributes for success
Experience in analyzing or advising clients / business stakeholders on current and emerging Hong Kong regulatory matters will be a definite advantageAbility to interact with executive levels of client and EY management Requirements:
To qualify for the role you must have
University degree majoring in risk management, accounting, analytics, actuarial, information systems or business related subjectsKnowledge and hands-on experience with Hong Kong, Asia-Pacific and global insurance regulationsPractical experience across disciplines such as conduct risk / regulatory advisory / internal controls / distribution risk / intermediary oversight and governance / operational resilience regulatory risk management / risk analytics / risk and internal control frameworksAt least seven years’ experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a reputable international accounting/advisory/consulting organization or multinational insurance company or insurance regulator Knowledge in analyzing regulations and proposed regulatory changesExcellent communication and presentation skillsStrong communication skills in English and Chinese (spoken and written) Ideally, you’ll also have
Working knowledge of Conduct Risk management and related frameworksExperience/knowledge of risk reporting and management information An understanding of Operational Resilience/Business Continuity Experience and knowledge with insurance products (Life and/or non-Life)Agency and Broker business and related insurance distribution models Effective time management and project management, interpersonal and influencing skills are essentialAn entrepreneurial mindset, client-service oriented and accustomed to taking a proactive approachRelevant professional qualifications such as HKICPA, CFA, FRM are preferred Strong project management and coordination skills An international outlook having worked for large multinational clients or across multiple geographies What working at EY offers
