Role Responsibilities
You will be working as an Audit Senior within the Financial Accounting and Advisory Services (FAAS) service line.
Key responsibilities include:
- Audit of companies in the large corporate and multi-national sectors;
- Design and implementation of audit plans;
- Project management of multi-jurisdictional audits centralised in Ireland;
- Ensure completion of assignments within appropriate budget and timeframe;
- Manage a team of qualified accountants;
- Preparation of accounts and financial statements;
- Assist in maintaining and developing key client relationships, primarily in the large corporate market;
Skills and attributes:
- Qualified accountant (ACA; ACCA or similar qualification);
- Strong technical knowledge;
- Strong experience in audit engagements;
- Experience in a top 20 practice;
- Worked with a diverse portfolio of clients;
- Be capable of working on your own initiative;
- Be ambitious and want to pursue a career in practice; and
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential

Financial Accounting and Advisory Services (FAAS) is the fastest growing department in Grant Thornton. Our team has grown from 12 to 160 over the last 6 years. We are a specialist team who service complex large scale and multinational companies, providing solutions to accounting challenges in global finance functions. Our experienced and multinational team operates across 4 key service lines as per the below;
1) Global Compliance and Reporting Solutions
Centralised approach to the following services:
- Statutory accounts production
- Conversion from group to local
- GAAP
- Supporting audit file
- Tagging & filing VAT
- Income tax
2) Audit and Accounting Advisory
- Centralised coordinated non-financial services audits for EMEA and APAC entities through our Centre of Excellence
- Conversion to new accounting frameworks
- Implementation of new accounting standards
- Technical accounting advice on new transactions
3) Effective Financial Reporting
- Interim/Surge resourcing
- Remediation and review
- Transition management
- PMO Offering
4) Business Process Outsourcing
- Full or partial process outsourcing including PTP, OTC and RTR
- Payroll coordination
- Process optimisation
- Reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Access to consulting advice for Shared Service Centre setup and implementation

It involves working closely with Partners and other senior personnel within Grant Thornton but also with key people from our multinational client base.
