European VAT Accountant

The position of Euopean VAT Accountant is to assist the Group Finance Manager with review & preparation of VAT returns, month-end management accounting for the holding companies, preparing files for the annual audit, maintaining the intercompany process, reviewing intercompany debt and the review of banking payments, assisting in corporation tax computation & payments

Our client is a leading business with offices in Bristol, due to company growth they are currently recruiting for a European VAT Accountant to support the Group Finance Manager

Description

The European VAT Accountant will be responsible for;

• European VAT - Review of source data to facilitate submission of periodic VAT returns
• Provision of data to banking teams to transact necessary VAT payments
• Reconciliation of VAT account balance sheet accounts and ensuring differences are investigated and resolved
• Co-ordination with internal accounting teams for data required for corporate income tax submissions and payments
• Liaison with outsourced tax advisors
• Liaison with internal stake holders - management accountants, controllers
• Ensuring tax deadlines are met and right tax paid at right time in each country
• Work with external tax advisors to ensure internal process and systems are compliant with individual legislative jurisdictions
• Detailed review of management accounts
• Detailed review of weekly cash flows split out in below jurisdictions, ensuring all acquisition budgets are added in on a monthly basis and any variances adjusted for in the forecasts

Profile

The successful European VAT Accountant will have experience in European VAT submissions and review and will ideally be studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification

Job Offer

A salary of between £35,000 and £45,000 depending on experience and qualifications
