Accounts Payable Officer

The Company

The organisation are a highly regarded company based close to Melbourne CBD. Work from home is encouraged just now and flexibility will be retained moving forward. They are looking for cover in their Accounts Payable team from late November until mid-late February though this role has a chance to then become permanent.

The Role

You will work under an Accounts Payable Supervisor and will be given complete autonomy in this end to end position.

Some typical duties will involve:

• High volume processing of invoices for payment
• Preparing payment runs for approval
• Taking a strategic approach to managing vendors in terms of when payments will be made
• General ledger reconciliations
• Processing credit card transactions and staff expenses
• Handling accounts payable queries from internal stakeholders and external customers

Interviews likely to take place from mid November and the successful candidate will commence quickly thereafter to ensure full training and induction is completed before the end of the month.

Your Profile

You will have a background in accounts payable with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position. The following attributes will also be highly advantageous:

• Experience working with a mid-large organisation that has experienced change
• Exposure to ERP systems
• Strong knowledge of debits and credits
• Exposure to complex accounts payable processing
• Fantastic energy and communication skills
• Comfortable working in Melbourne CBD once restrictions are eased
