This is a home based role, but you must be able to go into the office when required. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £78,000 per annum plus excellent benefits. Your key duties as our Head of Financial Accounting and Control will include: - Managing the accounting & control team to deliver the monthly flash figures for all BFS entities - Recruiting, training and employing high calibre employees - Ensuring that an effective performance review is operated in line with departmental guidelines - Supporting and developing a team with detailed and thorough understanding of the Group's individual businesses - Ensuring group-wide financial controls are in place and adhered to, and regular reviews and sign-off processes are in place - Ensuring the application of accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards across all BFS companies - Supporting the management of company audits involving liaising with internal and external auditors, sign-off of all audit documentation produced by the team and actioning and implementing feedback from audits - Supporting the production of the statutory returns for tax, VAT, etc - Supporting the GFC in the production of financial Board reports/papers for al BFS entities - Ensuring the team works collaboratively with stakeholders both inside and outside of the finance tea=m What we are looking for in our ideal Head of Financial Accounting and Control: - A strong communicator who can present effectively and diplomatically - A proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of and resolve problems - Experience of developing and leading a team of qualified and part qualified accountants - Strong and up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP, with experience of European GAAP and advantage - Expert MS Excel skills - A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), preferably with 3-5 years post qualification experience There's no place quite like BFS and we're proud of that.
