Role/ Department:

The Information Security and Technology Risk department is seeking a Security Analyst to join the Northern Trust Information Security Risk Management team. The Information Security Risk Analyst will support assessing information security risk including risks raised from vulnerability scanning, application security testing, and cybersecurity incident response. The analyst will use both technical and communication skills to assess risk, raise awareness, and provide Northern Trust leadership with the information needed to effectively deploy information security resources.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

As a member of the Information Security Risk Management team, you will:

  • Conduct technical information security risk and controls effectiveness assessments
  • Work with technology partners to understand information security risk across the organization
  • Communicate risk with technology and business partners and leaders
  • Maintain documentation and tracking of risk assessments
  • Assist in development and improvement of risk assessment processes and methodologies
  • Maintain knowledge of changing technologies, attack methods, and vulnerabilities

Skills/ Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • An educational background in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field
  • Experience or comprehensive knowledge in the field of cybersecurity, information technology, or related fields (e.g. fraud, privacy)
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently
  • Knowledge of information security standards and regulatory requirements
  • Strong oral & written communication skills
