New Balance Retail Accountant Job - CA Financial Appointments



Global sports footwear and apparel giants, New Balance, have exclusively hired CA Financial Appointments to partner with them as we look to attract their Retail Accountant who will be based at their offices in Claremont, Cape Town.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, this exciting opportunity exists for a degree qualified finance professional who has strong technical skills as well as strong people partnering skills. This individual should have previous accounting experience, preferably within Retail or FMCG. In this role you will connect with multiple key stakeholders, including the retail outlets across South Africa, to maintain existing, and develop and implement new reporting tools to support the business.
As a brand associated with precision, speed and agility, New Balance is looking to identify these traits in their Retail Accountant. This role will report in to the Financial Controller and take responsibility for:

• Ensuring all reporting is accurate and delivered on time in accordance with the international accounting calendar
• Delivering accurate Retail and eCommerce forecasts with well thought out assumptions which are efficiently documented and with variances clearly explained
Full transparency on the key responsibilities follows below: 

General Accounting and Reporting
• Full management of the Fixed Asset Register in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with the preparation of the South African annual budgets, monthly forecasts and 5 year OGSP plans 

Retail Accounting & Reporting
• Monthly processing and reconciliation of Retail Sales and Cost of Sales
• Monthly update and collation of retail key metrics in the rolling data report
• Review of retail stock count variances and report to Financial Controller
• Preparation of the Retail Global report
• Preparation of Retail GTM report 
• Preparation of Monthly Retail P&L actuals and distribution to management
• Assist Retail Manager with Monthly Retail P&L updated rolling forecasts and budgets
• Weekly Gross Margin and Sales Analysis for Retail vs Budget and Forecast
• Assist with projected financials for store renewals, new store openings and Capital Asset Requisitions (CARs) 

eCommerce Accounting and Reporting 
• Monthly eCom P&L actuals and forecasts
• Weekly eCom dashboard report
Qualifications & Experience required: 
• A completed BCom accounting degree, CIMA or similar
• 3-4 years commercial experience
