This is a permanent role working 35 hours per week, salary level of £35,000 per annum plus benefits package.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Background to Role

Under the new ownership, the finance function is undergoing change in order to meet the required reporting requirements and comply with new internal compliance processes.

This role is to support monthly reporting processes and the implementation of new accounting requirements.

Role and Responsibilities

The principal areas of responsibility are to support:
  • Periodic reporting and forecasting
  • Monthly management reporting to parent group.
  • Local management reporting and analysis.
  • Monthly transaction processing
  • Projects
  • Review and refresh inventory control processes and count procedures.
  • Move to upgraded ERP system
  • Ad hoc business efficiency activities
  • Support upgrade of possible move to standard costing
  • Maintenance of internal controls
  • Formalising, maintaining and upholding internal controls, particularly with regard to:
    • Sarbanes-Oxley
    • Anti-Bribery
    • Trade Compliance

The role will report to the Site Financial Controller.



Teledyne GMI uses Syspro for accounting. Reporting and forecasting are through OneStream.

Candidate Background

The successful candidate is likely to have manufacturing experience and be familiar with the culture of US multi-nationals. Experience and attitude are more important than formal qualifications.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Solid manufacturing background, ideally in a business of comparable scale.
  • Good at building effective relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to gain familiarity with new systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Familiar with Syspro or OneStream
  • Experience in a large company environment, with strong procedures and internal controls
  • Accustomed to short deadlines

Personal Qualities
  • Comfortable with change.
  • Hands on - willing and able to get into the detail while understanding the bigger picture.
  • Results driven.
