The Opportunity

As an Analytics/Actuarial Director for Health Solutions in the centre, you will be responsible for designing, driving and delivering actuarial and analytical solutions and programs to our key stakeholders across Aon's global health and benefits solutions.

You will need to lead multi-discipline project teams of actuaries, data scientists, developers and analysts. Additionally, you will need to be able to lead delivery teams across on and offshore locations setting goals and managing the full solution lifecycle, from scoping requirements to analytical design to delivery. You will also track and manage risks by working with required stakeholders/teams to develop mitigation action plans and managing appropriate escalation channels when necessary.

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to set project objectives and determine technical and resource needs including monitoring progress of development efforts at all stages
  • Serve as the lead for end-to-end delivery
  • Provide knowledge and technical direction in the development, design and integration of consulting solutions
  • Manage various delivery teams and work on release planning, sprint planning, and sprint reviews
  • Articulate weekly status updates based on defined release goals to key stakeholders
  • Engage with Operations Committee to conduct monthly status updates based on defined release goals
  • Support Team Leads / Business Owners during release planning and goals definition
  • Prepare support documentation an d training materials to business users
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to junior team members (management responsibility possible)
  • Bachelor or master's in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, finance or a related field
  • Actuarial credential at an associate or fellowship level in SOA, CAS, IFOA or another IAA recognized actuarial organization or an equivalent level of education
  • At least 5+ years industry experience strongly preferred, especially in health insurance
  • Experience managing projects or programs and being responsible for delivery and decision making
  • Experience with insurance specific applications (Axis, MG-Alfra, Pro-Val) or similar software
  • Experience building production actuarial/statistical models
  • Programming knowledge in C#, R, Python, SQL or JavaScript (angular framework)
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Understanding of the software development cycle and agile project management
  • Critical and innovative thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently
  • Adaptability, able to learn quickly, specifically in regards to technology and software solutions
