The opportunity

To provide assistance with quarterly and monthly MI and analysis to group, the underwriting departments & overseas offices, as well as the production of board level reporting and the budget.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with production of monthly and quarterly board reports.
  • Including Executive committee, Audit Committee, Balanced scorecard, Staff briefing, TUL Finance pack, Chief executive presentation.


UW commentaries
  • Assist with production of quarterly underwriting GAAP result packs for underwriting teams, including variance analysis, commentary and discussions.


Overseas reporting

Assist with the production of monthly and quarter end reporting to the overseas offices. This will include:
  • Quarter end GAAP P&L's across all offices and all classes.
  • Quarter end Triangulations across all offices and all classes.
  • Overseas office board packs and QTR end oversight committee packs.


Assist with production of quarterly analytics to group
  • Including QTD & YTD technical P&L and Balance Sheet.


Premium management

Responsible for:
  • Timely production and distribution of weekly and bi weekly EPI and signed premium reports
  • Production of the monthly and quarterly aged debt reports and co-ordination with underwriting management to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Analysing monthly data and investigating and commenting on material variances.


Forecasting & Budgeting

To provide back up and assistance to the budgeting and management reporting team during the quarter and year end reporting process.

Development and improvement of processes
  • Streamlining processes and controls in the MI reporting
  • Integrating new data warehouse into quarterly and ad hoc reporting


Key Relationships:
  • Finance.

  • Overseas offices management and teams.

Key Performance Indicators:
  • The accurate and timely production of Management Information.


About you

As Management Accountant your experience and qualifications will include:-
  • Insurance experience essential.
  • Experience of working within finance department
  • Experience of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Part Qualified or Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, qualified by experience).
