The Senior Accountant furthers the company's goals through the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, the analysis and reconciliations of accounts, and the analysis of cash flow, as well as the creation of budgets and forecasts, preparation of audits, and management of internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the technology industry and is located in Buffalo, New York.

Your responsibilities

– Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

– Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

– Partake in various department–wide initiatives

– Prepare monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

– Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

– Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process

– Assist in preparing the Company to meet SEC reporting requirements.

– Delegate resources to Ad–hoc projects as necessary

– Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

– Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

Job Requirements:
– BA/BS in Accounting required, MBA preferred

– CPA or CMA preferred

– Experience with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) financial reporting (e.g., financial statements within Forms 10–K and 10–Q) required

– Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

– Self–starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

– High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

– Excellent oral and written communication skills

– Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

– Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
