Job Responsibilities
Finance
  • Manage the monthly and yearly financial closing at power plant to ensure closing is smooth month closing process and meet reporting timeline set by holding company.
  • Responsible to ensure department is compliant with the Group and company policies, procedures and guidelines to support reliability and accuracy of financial data and safeguard the company assets.
  • Review monthly and yearly financial report to ensure accurate financials in accordance to appropriate accounting principles and standards.
  • Responsible to ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly and yearly reports and management accounts to Head Office.
  • Perform periodic cash flow planning and management to ensure optimisation of fund.
  • Review monthly billing to ensure timely and accurate billing to the customer.
  • Responsible tax matters for the power plant including:
                 a. Prepare tax estimation as and when required to ensure optimal tax instalment and avoid
                     any tax penalty;
                 b. Review yearly tax computation to ensure accuracy and timeliness of tax filing, supporting
                     with proper valid documents.
  • Managing the annual statutory audit and finance external audit process to ensure audit schedules are provided on accurately and timely manner.
  • Responsible as budget controller at power plant to ensure spending is in accordance to approved annual budget prior to approving any purchase requisition.
  • Responsible for preparation of periodic financial forecast as and when requested by head office;
  • Responsible for preparation and coordinate annual budget exercise at power plant to ensure accuracy and timely submission of annual budget reporting pack to head office.
  • Responsible to provide information to local authorities as and when required.
Administration
  • Responsible to ensure compliance and integrity according to company administration guideline and policy.
  • Key person to cascade any Group policies and procedure to all levels of staff at power plant on timely and clearly manner.
  • Responsible to ensure effective monitoring of staff leave record, attendance, overtimes, claims, administer welfare programmes for employees, staff management and development of subordinates.
  • Responsible for monitoring staff recruitment, employee relations, training and office management are carried out as per plan and target.
  • Overseas and monitor department performance in accordance to plan or target.
Procurement
  • Responsible to ensure compliance and integrity according to company procurement guideline and policy.
  • Key person to cascade any Group policies and procedure to all levels of staff at power plant on timely and clearly manner.
  • Responsible for monitoring procurement activities are being carried out as per plan and target.
  • Overseas inventory management to ensure accuracy of inventory records and proper periodic stock take is performed.
Others
  • To ensure a high safety conscious working environment and compliance with all company and legislative Safety, Health & Environmental requirements.
  • Perform any other assignments as and when assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
  • Professional qualification in accountancy and/or finance (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, etc) or Degree in Accountancy and/or Finance.
  • 10 years' experience in corporate organization in related field.
  • Experience in power industry are added advantage.
  • A member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants with sound technical knowledge of applicable accounting standards and financial reporting requirements, tax requirements and other related law/compliances.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, SAP system and financial modelling.
  • Good communication skill.
  • Able to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • A good team player.
  • Good verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Experience in new set-up finance department.
  • Ability to work in challenging working environment.
