Job Description: PRIMARY FUNCTION: This is a full-time position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance
  • All accounting functions including writing receipts, making deposits, balancing checkbook and sending monthly reports to the Central Office
  • Maintains accounts in McAleer
  • Counts and receipts all school monies.
  • Prepares and conducts bank deposits daily or as directed.
  • Processes payments on accounts as they become due.
  • Enters all transactions into computer (if applicable).
  • Balances bank statement each month.
  • Maintains accurate paper trail on all transactions for auditing purposes and accurate/current account balances on each fund.
  • Distributes purchase orders as requested and maintains accurate records on expenditures of accounts.
  • Prepares and submits, for payment, all purchase orders for purchases made through the school budgeted funds.
  • Issues payment to vendors by check, maintains files of paid invoices, charging expenditures to proper activity account.
  • Provides general clerical support in the school office.
  • Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in school environment and community.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with principal, students, parents, staff and public.
  • Assists visitors to the office, including students, parents, substitutes teachers, and others.
  • Answers telephone calls, and provide information and assistance to callers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Education and/or Experience:
  • Some college; 1-3 years of related experience and/or training is preferred
  • 2+ years of solid administrative assistance and/or HR experience
  • Above average knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management

EXPERIENCE: Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: customer service; problem solving; performing standard bookkeeping; applying pertinent policies, regulations and/or laws; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform a variety of basic math functions; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, present information to others; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: business telephone etiquette; bookkeeping principles and practices; standard office machines; methods and practices of office operations; and basic computer applications (proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel).

ABILITY is required to schedule activities and work with a wide diversity of individuals; gather and/or collate data, use basic math and job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, hear and talk for extended periods of time and is regularly required to use hands and fingers to type on keyboard.
