Job Overview: EXCITING OPPORTUNITY WITH OUR GOVERNMENT CLIENT IN NYC!
- We are looking for qualified Database Administrator , with a minimum of eight years of proven experience in SQL Server Database Administration . Your role will consist to d esign storage strategies around backup and recovery for complex database environments, physical structures, and specialized database applications
- Expect to travel 10% within the 5 boroughs of NYC
- Database administration and development; including data analysis and design, software installation, security administration, capacity planning, data modeling and optimization.
- Integration and Reporting Services and server hardware configuration.
- Strategic and clear thinking to translate discrete and complex ideas to business - driven results
- Manage SQL Server 2005/2008 R2/2014/2016/2017/2019 databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission - critical production systems.
- SQL Development - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procs,
- functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints)
- Installation, configuration, customization & product support of Oracle Database 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g
- Design storage strategies around backup and recovery for complex database environments, physical structures, and specialized database applications maintaining up - to - date plans for disaster recovery and fail over capabilities.

- Development testing and support, optimization and Data modeling.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or Engineering
- Healthcare industry background is a plus.
- 8 years of SQL Server Database Administration experience.
- Experience in setting up real - time Change Data Capture, data integration and replication using Goldengate and other similar tools.
- Experience with Cloud based solutions such as Snowflake, AWS and Big Data apps such as Hadoop is a plus.
- Experience in the upgrade of Oracle GI and RAC: 10g R2, 11g and 12c.
- Must have experience with large - scale database support and maintenance (VLDB), SQL
- Understanding of security practices related to data ingestion, storage, analysis and visualization
- Strong analytical skills, oral & written communication skills, user interaction
