Your role

Can look at chaos and find simplicity and order? Can you communicate complex ideas in a way anybody can understand?

We're looking for someone like this to be a Business Analyst on "Aqua" - UBS's new state-of-the-art cloud based risk platform.

On this role you will:

• analyse the detail behind project requirements and produce documentation to communicate the solution detail
• work with IT and quant developers to implement and test solutions
• understand the front to back impact of design decisions, both from a technology and business perspective. Work with those impacted groups to create the optimal solution for the enterprise as a whole
• gain a deep understanding of the data in order to explain the impact of changes to traders, finance and market risk staff

Your team

You will be working within the Aqua team in London. Aqua is a joint business and IT initiative to build a new risk platform - using Microsoft Azure technologies. This new team is highly motivated and consists of some of the bank's best technologists and quants.

Current projects include onboarding the Rates Options and Equity Derivative Flow businesses to Aqua. These projects require a deep understanding of the front to back trade flow - from pricing and trade capture, though risk to finance accounting and PnL reporting.

Your expertise

• experience of working on a system that delivers derivative risk and PnL to a trading desk and associated stakeholders.
• strong knowledge of at least one class of OTC derivatives (Interest Rates, Equities, Credit, FX)
• experience of working directly with business users, such as traders, finance staff, Market Risk and Operations
• an appreciation of what's required to take an idea and develop it into a solution that will operate reliably in the real world
• experience of using a variety of analysis techniques to break down functionality into manageable chunks and document the requirements, business solutions and acceptance criteria
• the technical skills and attention to detail required to understand the organisation's data and to explain how IT solutions and processes will look to the end user
• ideally, a working knowledge of SQL and Python to experience the data and test out ideas
• an understanding of the software development lifecycle, preferably using an agile delivery model
• an ability to juggle multiple priorities
