This is an exciting opportunity for an internal audit Senior Analyst to join our Sydney Internal Audit team. The role will primarily support audits of Macquarie's broad Financial Management Group .

As an internal audit Senior Analyst, you will participate in assessments of the quality and effectiveness of the internal control framework, risk management and governance systems. You will partner with the broader risk management team from across the Group.

Our Financial Management Group includes finance, tax, treasury, corporate governance, and the business operational risk team. Prior experience in these areas as well as Australian prudential audits including liquidity and capital, and compliance risks would be advantageous. Key to your success will be experience in internal audit and exposure to banking or relevant financial services businesses. Relevant experience will be also considered from an external audit, risk management or consulting environment. A strong grasp of internal audit methodology is necessary. As a Senior Analyst you will be expected to participate as a team member in the full life cycle of audits.

Some of the key attributes ad experience you will bring include:

Planning
  • understanding the business environment, industry practices and specific organizational factors relevant to the audit engagement
  • demonstrating a sound understanding of the business and the associated key risks
  • performing effective control design assessments in line with the internal audit methodology
  • understanding of the work programme (test strategies).

Fieldwork
  • understanding the relationship between risks and key controls in performing control operating effectiveness testing
  • analysing and evaluate audit work done, to conclude on effectiveness of controls, including understanding the impact of testing exceptions on the conclusions.

Reporting
  • communicating findings from audit testing effectively with stakeholders prior to finalisation
  • preparing and audit findings for inclusion in the draft report
  • understanding how audit results translate into the control objective conclusions and ultimately the final audit opinion.

You will have excellent communication skills and possess the ability to liaise with and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Whilst the role is based in Sydney, you would be joining an internal audit team that is represented in New York, London, Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong and India. Travel may be required as our business units are also represented across the globe.
