The Financial Planning and Analysis Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi's financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to manage professional team(s)/department(s) and apply analytical thinking/knowledge of data analysis methodologies to create and analyze reports that gauge Citi's alignment with forecasted performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of finance professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
  • Drive forward looking processes including forecasts, strategic/operating plans, monthly outlooks, and review results
  • Perform analysis and deliver presentations related to the financial performance of Citi and its competitors
  • Generate analytics for quarter end flash results, related highlights, Board of Directors reports, and executive management reports as well as lead quarterly competitor reviews, quarterly annotated supplement, and quarterly investment reports
  • Lead the estimation of risk capital and embed estimation and other metrics of capital usage into management reports and decision processes
  • Prepare/present to senior management and stakeholders on using metrics to evaluate and drive business decisions
  • Manage the delivery of full range of services to one or more businesses/geographic regions and interact with peers internally/externally, including regulators and professional organizations
  • Advise internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes, and firm/business unit strategy
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience within financial services
  • Experience providing financial analysis for monthly forecasts, strategic multi-year forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge in additional systems including Oracle, Essbase, and SAP
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred

The Spread Products Franchise - an approx. $4.5 billion revenue segment within Global Markets & Securities Services - is comprised of 3 main Global Trading businesses: Credit Trading, Securitized Trading and Municipal Products.
The Global Spread Products Finance Lead has responsibility for managing all financial aspects across the business and is responsible for defining financial objectives anchored on sound financial criteria, driving strategy in close partnership with the business and functional areas globally.
The role requires a strong analytical approach to client, product and financial strategy together with leadership skills that significantly rely on influence and building strong partnerships to execute business and financial plans in a systematic, measurable, and effective way. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proven ability to work together with multiple stakeholders across Markets, Finance, Functions, Operations and Technology. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment without close supervision and with colleagues who may not be in the same geographic location.
The Spread Products Finance Lead reports to the Global Spread Products/Commodities/Other Citi Markets ("OCM") Finance Officer.
The Global Spread Products Finance Officer supplies the Global Markets LFO, FICC FO, Heads of the various businesses and other senior management (Global Markets Leadership, ICG CFO, CEO etc.) with analysis and insight into the financial results and projections. Through this analysis, the team facilitates decision making to drive performance and strategy of global products, regions and functions, and also for use with external analysts, regulators and investors. Additionally, this role will be instrumental in taking hte lead on special projects, notably optimizing resources across Other Citi Markets ("OCM") to best utilize and project revenue, balance sheet, expense, and capital.
Deliverables include, but are not limited to, monthly performance analyses, target setting and forward-looking analytics for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The team also sets balance sheet and capital consumption targets, manages the annual budget, quarterly outlooks and forecasts, competitor analytics, and the CCAR process to drive the long term performance of the franchise. The organization drives the planning and analytics for acquisitions, divestitures, investment initiatives, re-engineering programs, cost of credit trends and net interest margin analytics.
